Dilemmachine is producer/DJ/musician Jason Hornig, from the north bay area of California. Jason produces electronic dance music featuring sounds of nu disco, funk, and electro, rich with neo-80's and 90's vibes. Some of Jason's musical influences, identifiable in his remixes and originals alike, include Jan Hammer's work from the 1980's TV show Miami Vice, Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Jane Child, Van Halen, and more recent artists such as Oliver, Justice, Gigamesh and Madeon.
Dilemmachine has produced official remixes for Icona Pop, Data/Debt, Eli Schwebel, and Singapur, as well as many successful bootleg remixes of well-known tracks like “Summertime” by DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince, Stevie Wonder's "Superstition," Justin Timberlake's "Rock Your Body," and many more. Recently, the young and successful producer/DJ Kygo from Norway included Dilemmachine's remix of "I've Been Thinking About You" (by 90's pop band Londonbeat) in his radio set for Diplo & Friends on BBC Radio 1. Kygo continues to use the remix in his live DJ sets nearly every night.
To date, Dilemmachine has officially published two original EP's. Designer Jeans (2010, Vibrance Recordings) and Fiesta (originally released through Cold Busted in 2011, and re-released independently the following year). In 2013, Dilemmachine and fellow producer/DJ TonyTone teamed up to produce "Here I Come," a bootleg-style track featuring Lauryn Hill's vocal from the chorus of "Ready or Not" by the Fugees. When the track was made public, it made its way onto youtube where millions of viewers began to somehow mistake it for a leaked track off of the upcoming "Random Access Memories" by Daft Punk, which was scheduled to be released in the coming months.
Dilemmachine's own live DJ sets can include sounds ranging from old school 80's pop, disco and funk, to neo-80's, modern nu disco, deep house, and occasionally electro house.
The driving force behind Dilemmachine is a love for feel-good music, and it is his aim to use this passion to spread good vibes as widely reaching as possible.
